T-Online Venture and European Founders Fund invest €7 Million in Netviewer

Netviewer AG has gained two new strategic investors with T-Online Venture Fund and the European Founders Fund (Samwer brothers). The two organisations are injecting a total of €7 million in venture capital into the Karlsruhe-based firm. Netviewer will use the infusion of capital to continue its international growth strategy.

According to a recent study by Frost & Sullivan, Netviewer AG has increased its share of the market for Web conferencing services by 50 percent. The company has thereby strongly reinforced its position as the leading provider of Web conferencing. The increase is attributed especially to the tremendous rise in demand for online meetings. Business customers can now rent Web conferencing capabilities for as little as 29.90 per month.

Web meeting usage soars under fuel and travel cost pressures

Online meeting company Netviewer says it has seen a 40 per cent year on year increase in the use of its online meeting tools, which customer feedback indicates is strongly linked to the rise in fuel and transport costs across Europe. A total of 91.9m minutes of meetings were held online between January and July 2008, compared to 65.5m minutes for the same period in 2007.
